HealthcareOur Mission
NETC is dedicated to improving access to affordable and reliable telecommunications services for rural healthcare providers in New England.Established in 2007 in response to the Rural Health Care Pilot Program (RHCPP), the New England Telehealth Consortium (NETC) was one of the first groups to leverage the program and was cited 22 times in the legislation that shaped it. Initially starting with 500 healthcare sites across New England, NETC received $24.6 million from the pilot program to create a sustainable healthcare broadband network.
This network revitalized healthcare in New England by providing telecommunications infrastructure to healthcare providers. As the RHCPP evolved into what is now known as the Healthcare Connect Fund (HCF) program, NETC continued its mission of supporting healthcare facilities across the region to build secure, reliable internet systems.
Our Growth
Today, NETC serves over 1,300 healthcare sites and has secured more than $100 million in funding for its members. In 2023 alone, NETC received $36 million to support its growing network of healthcare providers. Beyond funding, NETC offers an expansive suite of services designed to help healthcare providers increase the impact of their HCF subsidies. These include 24/7 network management, cloud integration, and technical support—all designed to help healthcare providers build secure, reliable, and cost-efficient networks.
