We are excited, and a little sad, to announce that after 14 years with ProInfoNet and the New England Telehealth Consortium (NETC), NOC Manager Ron Barber will be retiring on July 29, 2026. 

Ron joined ProInfoNet in 2012 after a long career in IT, including supporting systems for Sperry Univac Corporation (which merged with Burroughs Corp. in 1986 and became Unisys Corp.) on Loring Air Force Base and owning and operating Eastern Maine Computer Service for 18 years. He began serving as NOC Manager for NETC’s wide area network shortly after joining ProInfoNet. 

“Working with NETC members over the years has been incredibly rewarding,” said Ron Barber. “I’m grateful for the relationships we’ve built and proud of the work we’ve done together to support healthcare in New England.” 

Ron plans to remain involved on a part-time basis during the transition period to help ensure continuity and support for NETC members. As he steps away, Jason Gay, VP of Technology at ProInfoNet, will serve as the primary point of contact for NETC network questions and initiatives moving forward. 

Jason joined ProInfoNet in 2020 and brings 30 years of experience in IT, network engineering, cybersecurity, and technology leadership. Many members already know Jason through his work leading the NETC NextGen project, including the current proof-of-concept efforts. 

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue working with NETC members in this capacity,” said Jason Gay. ” We’re in an exciting phase with our NextGen efforts, and I look forward to working closely with members as we move proof-of-concept into the next stage and continue supporting the network needs of the consortium.”
